Welllll, with fall weather rolling in, so does rain! I don’t know about you, but I am the type of person that feels like they always have to be doing something, no matter what. For all of you busy bees out there like myself, I combined a list of ways to still be productive, even when it is raining cats and dogs outside!

- CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSET
- Man, I know my mom will appreciate this first bullet point. Every time I am at home, she always tries to get me to help her with this one. If you take the time to clean out your closet on a rainy day, go through all of those old clothes, you will have about 2-4 bags of clothes to donate to a thrift store or consignment store, have more space in your closet, and feel accomplished!
- PLAN YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE
- It is always good to constantly be planning something. Sit down, do some research, and start on planning your next adventure! If you don’t make the time to do so now, then when will you? Adventure is waiting! Go find it.
- CREATE A BUCKET LIST FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR
- I love planning and looking ahead at the future just so that I have somewhat of an idea what things will look like. I also like having things to look forward to as well. Creating bucket lists will give you goals and things to accomplish before the end of the year!
- CLEAN YOUR BEDROOM
- There is NOTHING like a clean bedroom with fresh sheets! Just imagine getting to come home to your bedroom being so tidy and clean. You will for sure thank yourself later!
- TAKE A LONG SHOWER & HAVE A SPA DAY
- You know you’ll feel so much better after you refreshen yourself with a long shower and pamper yourself a little bit. Throw on a face mask, do your nails, put on so exfoliator, and you will for sure be ready for the day tomorrow!
- MEAL PREP
- Prep your meals for the following week! Get a head start on the week and be productive. Now that your meals can be taken care of, you will have more time to do other things.
- READ A BOOK
- I just glanced over and saw the 3 books I still haven’t finished that I started months ago. A rainy day would be a perfect opportunity to cuddle up with a blanket and finish a book. Relaxing, good for the soul, and rejuvenating.
- MAKE A CUP OF JOE
- Sometimes making a big cup of coffee will really help you be more productive doing anything. Sipping on coffee all day is relaxing and makes you feel more energized to get anything done. You can even make it fun with adding different flavors and toppings as well!
- ORGANIZE YOUR PHONE
- Delete old pictures, make playlists on Spotify or Apple Music or whatever you use to stream your music, pick a new phone screen background, watch a YouTube tutorial on how to do Widgets and make some Shortcuts and Widgets and you will feel organized and productive! It will feel like a brand new phone (:
- HAVE A THEMED MOVIE MARATHON
- You can finally have a GOOD excuse to watch those movies everyone has been talking about. Pop some popcorn and make a few other snacks or drinks and get those movies rolling! You could even invite a friend over, too!
- GET YOUR LEARNING ON AT A MUSEUM
- If you are still dying to leave the house, head over to a museum and educate yourself on something. Who knows, maybe you could meet a friend there that also had the same idea as you. Going to a museum on a rainy day doesn’t sound like a bad idea to me!
- CREATE A SWEET TREAT
- You could look in the pantry and see what ingredients you have to create a sweet treat. I enjoy cooking and baking in my free time and it is a great way to kill some time! You can even head over to Allrecipes.com and just type in ingredients you already have and recipes will show up for you.
- INVITE FRIENDS OVER FOR A POTLUCK/ COCKTAIL PARTY
- Tell your friends to stop being lame and get their cooking-game on so that they can come over for a pot-luck and cocktails! Make it fun! Everyone can dress up fancy or you can even make it themed and bring a certain dish and/or drinks for each other.
- BLIND COOK
- Grab a friend or significant other and pick out a recipe. One of you guys has to volunteer to wear a blindfold. The other has to instruct the one wearing the blindfold how to prepare the recipe! This is a fun bonding exercise and a great way to spend a rainy night!
- WINE PAINT PARTY
- If you know me, you know I love making charcuterie boards. Grab a board, throw some cheese and crackers, bread, meats, olives, jams, and whatever else on it. Grab some wine and some paint and have yourself a wine paint party and charcuterie board. Invite some friends over and enjoy your day/night!
I hope you have enjoyed dreaming up of how to spend your next rainy day with me. I sure have enjoyed coming up with ideas and I hope you find this useful. Leave some more ideas in the comments below! (:
