Can you believe it is already fall time? This year has gone by so fast, hasn’t it? I have always picked fall as my favorite season for numerous reasons. From the foliage to tailgating in the Grove, that transition from summer to winter sure does make things oh, so special! What is your favorite season?

Keep reading along to see 10 things to do during the fall season before it is over:
1. WATCH THE LEAVES CHANGE
Seeing the leaves change is one of the prettiest sights, ever. From the deep reds to the golden yellows, the colors of the leaves make for the picture-perfect desktop background or better yet, a picnic spot.

2. HAVE A SOUP & SCARY MOVIE MARATHON
Get into the Halloween spirit and binge-watch some of the scariest movies you can think of, all while enjoying a bowl of soup. With temperatures dropping, nothing says Halloween more than indoor fall activities, and a scary movie marathon may be just the thing to take your mind off the real-life scary problems knocking at your door. Throw in a bowl of soup with those scary movies, and you may have created the ideal fall night! Soup is a staple as the weather drops to the colder degrees, so hop on your couch, grab a blanket, and a bowl of soup and enjoy your night, but don’t get too spooked!

3. DRINK A CHAI LATTE
One of my favorite past times (and feeling of nostalgia) when it comes to this time of the year is enjoying a nice, spicy chai latte. There is nothing better than “sipping” the taste of fall and the chai latte really does the job! I really enjoy the chai latte at Cups Espresso Café. Sometimes I even add espresso ice cubes!

4. CARVE A PUMPKIN
You are never too old to carve a pumpkin! It is nostalgic and relaxing!!! Aaand you can even roast the pumpkin seeds for a light snack! Better yet, plant those seeds and try to grow your own pumpkin! Don’t want to carve it? Grab some paint and decorate the outside of it, painting whatever you want. Pumpkin crafts are one of the best things about fall time. Getting to sit outdoors and enjoy the fresh breeze and fall foilage is another thing that makes pumpkin carving even more worthwhile!

5. SPEND TIME AROUND A FIRE PIT
Autumn is the right time for warmth and relaxation—just imagine yourself in front of a log fire watching the dancing flames while sipping on a glass of wine or warm apple cider, rain outside, and your faithful dog (or cat) sitting beside you. To enhance the experience add some scents to the fireplace. For instance, dried apple for a fruity scent, lemon peel for a sweet fragrance, and cinnamon sticks, or pine cones to bring the spirit of a pine forest to your home.

6. ENJOY AN SEC FOOTBALL GAME
Growing up an Ole Miss fan and attending The University of Mississippi myself, there was nothing better than spending fall days in the Grove, surrounded by other football fans, and snacking on tailgate food. The Grove experience is top-tier in the SEC and something everyone should experience! Get out there and tailgate and go to a football game this fall! #HottyToddy and #GoRebs!

7. CREATE AN AUTUMN-INSPIRED COCKTAIL
The flavors of autumn are many, from the taste of a spicy pumpkin latte to apple cider. Fall is also the time for cranberries and figs which pairs great in punches and sangria. Plus, the fall season is the perfect time for hot mulled cider, boozy hot chocolate, and apple cider hot toddies added to a cup of hot water. Go ahead and grab some of these ingredients and get to work on perfecting your own autumn-inspired cocktail.

8. SIP ON APPLE CIDER
Apple cider is the perfect drink for entertaining your fall harvest party or Halloween soiree. You can buy it or make it from scratch by placing apples in a pot and covering them with water before stirring in cinnamon, allspice, and sugar. I have always loved apple cider, and you can even find Apple Chaider at some local coffee shops (apple cider with chai concentrate) which makes it even more fall-like and tasty!

9. TRY OUT THE BEST PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES IN YOUR TOWN
I am a sucker for coffee shops and always have been. Pumpkin Spice Lattes cannot be avoided this time of year, so why not go on the hunt for the best one in your town? I may be biased, but after working at the Cups Espresso Café in Flowood since 2018 (seasonally) I am just going to have to go ahead and say, Cups has the best PSL! What local coffee shop has your favorite drink? Comment below and let’s compare!

10. DECORATE YOUR HOUSE FOR FALL
There’s nothing to inspire feelings of contentedness than candles releasing scents of apples, pumpkins, cinnamon, amber, and spice around the house. They look adorable too in their little mason jars or twine-wrapped tin containers. Hit up your local T.J.Maxx or Target, or wherever else you get your home decor and grab some good-smelling fall decor, velvet pumpkins to burlap, and get your house all cozied up for the season!
