Happy holidays, everyone!
Christmas is right around the corner, and with that being said… So are some unwanted gifts in your unforeseeable future! You know, those gifts people just have to gift you and you’re stuck unwrapping something from Aunt Suzie that you see once a year around the holidays and you don’t know if you are about to unwrap something that is alive or not… Yeah, those types of gifts…
Well… I have gathered the perfect list of “The Best Replies to A Gift You Don’t Like”, so keep on reading to see what you can tell ole Aunt Suzie this year when you open up her ever-so thoughtful gift!

“Thank you SO much!”
Hit them with the basic “thank you so much” so things carry on and they are distracted. Every gift deserves a thank you, ya know??? Even if you don’t like the gift, thank them and everyone can MOVE ON!

“Wow! This is something!”
It sure is, isn’t it??? Ha, ha, ha! This sure is something, so just state the obvious but be sure to do it with the biggest smile on your face and be sure to keep your eyes on the prize the whole time. (your new “something” of a gift).

“I’m overwhelmed!”
I bet you are! Overwhelmed with trying to figure out what you just unwrapped!!! And now what you are going to do with said object. Yeah, it is ok though. Make sure to just tell the giver of the gift you are overwhelmed with how thoughtful and generous they are while you’re at it! (;

“I love the color!”
Yes, adjectives! Describe the gift. You love the color. You love the pattern on it. You don’t necessarily have to like everything and all aspects of the gift, but hey, you can like the color!!!

“This is so sweet!”
It sure is sweet!

“Where’d you find this!”
Be sure to ask so you can be returning it later, am I right??? Absolutely!

“Thanks so much! That’s so . . . I will enjoy it.”
That is so, what?? Just cough so you don’t have to finish your sentence and act distracted. No one will ever know. Move on to the next thing. Why is everyone watching you anyway? Weirdos!

“You shouldn’t have…”
Exactly right. You really, really shouldn’t have. But they did, anyway.

“I was not expecting that!”
Yeah, yeah… You probably were not! Did you mean for that to come out of your mouth! Ooops, but it did. At least you said it with a big smile on your face!!!

“How neat.”
And neat it was, indeed.

Well, I hope some of the replies will help you out this Christmas season when receiving a gift you don’t like. Just remember to keep a smile on your face the whole time and keep in mind that it is just the “thought that counts”. Anyways, I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
