I believe that a positive attitude and healthy mindset is everything. It can make or break the way you live and view your life. Having a positive mindset can enhance the way you live, have an impact on the friends you choose, & even (and the most important) help your mental health.

Having a good outlook & mindset on life is the upmost epitome to success. I have been practicing this a lot recently, and I wanted to share what has helped me. I hope my list of 10 mindset shifts to enhance your life encourages you and helps you as well!
Enjoy reading some of my personal mindset shifts below:
1. Celebrate The Smallest Of Things
The older I get, the more I realize life is worth celebrating the smallest of things. From waking up early for a week straight to go to the gym, to reading a book in a short amount of time, the celebrations are vast and always worth acknowledging. Share your celebrations with others, have a refreshing cocktail, and take a moment to pat yourself on the back. Celebrating your victories and the small things not only boosts your confidence and self-esteem but also reinforces the belief that you are worthy of abundance in all its forms. So, break out the champagne, do a little happy dance, and celebrate the abundance that surrounds you.

2. Shift From “Can’t” To “Can”
We don’t want to be a bunch of Negative Nelly’s. Turn that “can’t” into a “can” and see how your perception of things slowly begins to change. Your mindset will transform, making you try new things out of your comfort zone and boost your overall confidence. Instead of thinking, “I can’t go to the gym every morning because I will be too tired”, turn it into a “can” and you will be able to wake up, go, and do the thing!

3. Practice Patience
One thing I am constantly struggling with is having patience. No matter if it is traffic, waiting around on plans, or slow people in stores, the lack of patience can create an angry mindset and cause unwanted frustration or attitudes. Patience is a virtue, and learn to be mindful in times of slowness and enjoy the present.

4. Only Worry About What You Can Control
THIS. ONE. This is such an important mindset to have. Worrying about others and what they are doing is out of your control. Worrying about the weather, your coworkers, or traffic are all things that are not in your control. Maybe there is a reason the traffic is heavy, maybe the weather is the way it is for a reason. Let it be. Let people do what they want to do and know you cannot control the way they react to things or their actions.

5. Do Not Compare Yourself To Others
Comparison is the theft of joy. And why would we want a lack of joy on our mindset growth journey? Comparing yourself and your life to others only makes you dwell in self pitty. It makes you wish you looked a certain way, or lived a different type of lifestyle. But the good thing about this is remembering to be individually YOU.

6. Stop People Pleasing & Put Yourself First
Sometimes, it feels very hard to say no. Personally, I struggle with saying no and putting myself and needs first. I find myself working around the schedules of others instead of my own. And it gets pretty exhausting. Having the courage to say no to plans or if someone asks you to do something for them instead of always being a “yes man” not only gives you more time for your own needs, but reassures you of who you surround yourself with and making boundaries.

7. Remind Yourself Of What “Little You” Would Want Or Do
This is one of the things that helps me the most in life. From tough conversations to unhealthy relationships, reminding myself of what “Little Lexie” would think about it or say really does help a lot. I remember the little girl I once was and strive to make her happy. Practice this, I promise it works.

8. Be Aware Of Who You Spend Your Time Around
Have you ever heard the saying, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”? This concept suggests that the people we surround ourselves with greatly influence our thoughts, behaviors, and ultimately shape who we become. Read that again! We should be careful on who we spend our time with, because it can influence and affect almost every other characteristics of who we are.

9. Wake Up Every Morning Feeling Grateful
Sometimes we can get wrapped up with the motions of life. We can become consumed with what is going on all around us, on social media, personal struggles, and more. But, it is all a part of life and the quicker we accept that, the quicker we can be at ease of what we can control. If you wake up every morning and let your first thoughts be filled with gratitude and gratefulness, your day will be 100% be better than waking up with a sour attitude, which quickly can turn to feeling anxious and sad.

10. Let Go & Let God
Trusting the word of God not only will give you strength throughout your day, but also help you have the motivation to be the person you want to be. Remember that God is in control, and if you are going through a time of trial or difficulty, this too shall pass. Your light will shine brightest in your darkest days. Let the light of Jesus shine through your life. We can trust God and know that He is in control and is always with us. Trust in Him and see how your life changes for the better.

I hope you enjoyed reading some mindset shifts that will enhance how you live your life. Remember these throughout your day, and only worry about becoming a better version of you and what you CAN control. It helps, I promise.
