Take A Walking Tour Of The City

If you’re anything like me, learning about the history and culture of a new country I am visiting is something I strive to do at each new destination. Lisbon is a city known for its old-fashioned trams, rich history, colorful architecture, and delicious food. One of my favorite apps to use while traveling is Get Your Guide. Find a nice walking tour on Get Your Guide and learn about the great city of Lisbon!

Grab The Famous Portugese Pastry

Make sure to get all of the goods while visiting the city! Pastel de Nata or Pastel de Belém is a custard tart pastry with a crisp, flaky crust and a creamy custard filling. This is a true icon when it comes to dishes to try in Portugal. Don’t forget to try it!

Ride In An Iconic Tram

The tram is a staple to Portugese culture, so of course a must in your visit is to ride in one of them. There are two distinct types of trams, the historic “Remodelado” trams or the modern Siemens “Articulado” trams. The Remodelado trams are the quaint yellow trams that rattle and screech through the narrow streets of Lisbon.

Enjoy Fresh Fish For Lunch

A city with many restaurants and food stops, Lisbon is a coastal town. Fish is one of the most popular must-try foods. Check out TripAdvisor’s list of the top ten restaurants in the area on your visit.

Explore “Calle Rosa de Lisboa” The Pink Street & Take Pictures Under The Rainbow Umbrellas

A very famous tourist attraction, walk down the touristy street to snap a photo on this vibrant pink street and under the rainbow umbrella canopy. The umbrella canopy’s are an iconic picture spot for Instagram, and more. It is worth the visit. Explore this touristy neighborhood and hop into any fun stores while you’re at it.

Visit Santa Maria Maior

Located in a charming neighborhood, Santa Maria Maior is a must-stop destination. Walk around and get prints from local artists while admiring the beautiful flowers and white and blue ceramic tiles. Explore the outskirts and walk around the streets to get a glimpse at all the pretty and colorful architecture.

Miradouro de Santa Luiza Alfama

Take a stroll around Miradouro de Santa Luiza Alfama. Get the best view of Lisbon from one of the most scenic spots!

Walk Around Rossio Square

Rossio Square, also known as Praça do Rossio or Praça de D. Pedro IV, is a lively square in Lisbon, Portugal’s Pombaline Downtown. It’s been one of Lisbon’s main squares since the Middle Ages and is home to many monuments and landmarks, including the National Theatre and the Column of Pedro IV.

Night Activities:

Eat Dinner At Restaurante Trinca

Hands down the BEST restaurant I have ever eaten at. I cannot rave about this place enough. It is a MUST TRY stop for food. The menus is different every night, and there is not one thing on the menu that is bad. Restaurante Trinca is something you will not want to miss.

Try Port, Wine

Known for their wine and spirit combo, port wine is definitely something you will have to try during your time in Portugal. Even if it is something you don’t like, atleast you can say you tried it!

Dive Into The Portugese Nightlife

One fun thing about traveling is experiencing the different nightlife scenes. The sangria can be found all over Lisbon, and it a refreshing drink to try! Calle Rosa de Lisboa is famous for its bright pink lane that sits as the center of Lisbon’s nightlife in the Cais do Sodre neighborhood. A bustling party hub, this pedestrian street is teeming with clubs, bars, and terraces that often host live concerts and themed events through the night.
